Sing Choral Evensong
The Camerata Singers was founded in 1969 by colleagues at the Marconi Research Group in Great Baddow and obviously there have been many changes in personnel over nearly 50 years.
Currently there are twelve of us and we sing a variety of music, from motets to madrigals, folk songs to show songs and everything in between. Our singing is almost exclusively “a capella”. Our most recent events have been a concert at Tillingham to raise funds for their organ, which Martin, a much-loved member of our group, played until his death early last year; Evensong and a concert at St Peter’s-on-the-Wall at Bradwell of Martin’s compositions; Evensong at Tolleshunt D’Arcy Church followed by a short concert to celebrate the dedication of their new screen; and singing at a charity fund-raising pre-Christmas concert in Purleigh. Last year we also sang Evensongs at BardMield Sailing, Great Sailing and Pleshey and for a wedding at Great Sailing.
